ABOUT Kessy
In her search for healing, after a traumatic illness and subsequent miracle with their youngest son, modern artist Kessy Heath found abstract painting as a way to heal. She strives to capture glimpses of the transcendent, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and perhaps find their own moments of connection. Her process is meditative, intuitive, and deeply rooted in prayer and God.
PROCESS:
Kessy's artistic process begins with a verse, a song, or a quote that resonates with me. She writes those words all over the first layer of the canvas. Then, she begins to layer marks and wash colors all over the top of the words, building layer upon layer, stepping back, analyzing, and rotating the canvas until a story emerges.
Kessy begins to highlight the imagery that she sees. These stories and images often feel like divine inspiration, weaving connections between the initial words and the final composition.
